Elaine Saloio earned her Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music receiving the Distinction in Performance Award. Ms. Saloio is the First Prize Winner of the James Pappoutsakis Flute Competition in Boston Massachusetts and is one of the first competition winners to be invited to serve on the competition’s Board of Directors where she continues to be an active member. Currently, she is on the faculty of Westfield State University, The Community Music School of Springfield, Holyoke Community College and has taught at Springfield Technical Community College. Ms. Saloio performs regularly as a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician in the Eastern United States as well as being invited abroad. Having been a teacher and performer for over 30 years, Elaine is frequently invited to present flute master classes and clinics at the college level as well as to high school and middle school aged students. In addition to her busy professional life, Elaine cherishes spending time with her family over a good meal, conversation and definitely enjoys the Maine coastline.
